Last New Years, I didn't make any resolutions because I figured what's the point, I never remember them anyway. This year I feel different. I've been craving a fresh start on a few aspects of my life and with the new year beginning, it seems like perfect timing to create a plan of action to achieve my goals. The biggest challenge I face, like many women and mothers, is the struggle for balance. What I've come to believe about balance is that all you can simply do is your best. This was a difficult lesson for me as I tend to be a perfectionist...but as I've also learned, being a perfectionist can be stressful! So my New Years Resolutions for 2010 center around finding ways to ensure that I always do the best that I can. The biggest changes I want to make are to my domestic skills....I want to spend less time on my computer and more time cooking, baking, crafting, volunteering and organizing. There have been too many times in this past year where I've felt like a chicken running around with my head cut off....and that's not how I want my kids to remember me. So here is a list of simple things I'm resolving to do this year:
1.) Stick to a consistent morning routine.
2.) Prep dinner in the morning so it's easier to get done in the evening.
3.) Create a sticker chart for my 3 year old.
4.) Write events/appointments down in both my planner, and google calendar.
5.) Create an office in our spare bedroom only devoted to household matters (not my photo biz)
6.) Send Thank you cards and letters in the mail.
7.) Create photo albums of my family for the past 2 years (yes, I'm 2 years behind)
8.) Modify the Fly Lady routine so that it works for me
9.) Plan more art projects for Riley.
10.) Volunteer to help homeless women and children in my area.
11.) To be better at writing all my "to-do" lists down before going to sleep
The beginning of 2010 feels nice....just like that fresh feeling you get when you step out of a nice warm bath or shower.
What are your resolutions? How do you plan on keeping them?

A fresh start sounds nice to me too...balance is the biggest one for me!

I'm so excited about 2010 too! I have a great feeling and the year is starting off strong for me and so many others, it's amazing! Hope you can find some balance, it really is tough to juggle so much and easy to lose track of little, yet important things! We need to get together soon and finish the conversation we were having at the Tweetup!
